![]() I guess it’s a bold statement to suggest that by coming to this blog, you are now on The Right Path. That’s not what I mean to imply, so let me explain… Each and every person is on a journey. We are traveling through life. The nature of the journey, as well as the destination (both of which are important), depend upon what path is taken. I am a Christian and so my authority for choosing a path, as well as how to travel as a pilgrim of that path, is Jesus Christ and his revealed word, the Bible. And what I read in the Bible over and over again is that there are good paths and bad paths, right paths and wrong paths. Contrary to contemporary thought, not all paths end up at the same place. Moreover, not all paths are equally as pleasant to travel. This blog is my effort to point folks toward the right path and then to help them travel that path to the very end. I’m sure you have seen signs on people’s walls that have indicated that what’s important is not the destination but the journey. I couldn’t disagree more. The journey is indeed important, but the Bible warns us, quite often, about paths with dead-ends… or worse. It would be the height of folly to ignore thinking about where the path that you are traveling is taking you. Indeed, that’s precisely what the Book of Proverbs teaches us repeatedly. More importantly than any of that is that I want to faithfully represent the King of the right path and introduce you to him. I want to bear witness to the fact that his Kingdom and Lordship extend into and through every sphere of life. There’s no area of life about which the King is unconcerned. There is no sphere over which he does not rule and reign. Traveling upon the right path in his strength and according to his direction will ensure that we move along with him and arrive safely to him. My favorite stories seem to have as a common theme, that of traveling, very often on an adventure. The Lord of the Rings and Pilgrim’s Progress come to mind. What always strikes me in these stories is how vital it is to have companions on the way. So, let’s travel this life’s journey together and may the King of the Right Path bless us as we do. Grace and Truth, Dale
